Good condition according to its age and use
Spectacular work by Reynold Henri Arnould, entitled “New York Metro” and established on the lower right corner. It is a geometric composition, with a strong futuristic influence, which represents the frenetic rhythm of the metro of a city like New York, characterized by ochre, brown and gray tones with small notes of color that direct the viewer's gaze. It belongs to his acclaimed series that explores industrial landscapes and post-war modernist urban structures.
Reynold Henri Arnould (1919-1980) was a renowned French artist, studying for 10 years at the École des beaux arts de Ruan, graduating in 1937 in Paris, winning the Rome Prize in 1939. He returned to the United States, returning to the French capital in 1952 and He was appointed director of the museum of El Havre and, later, of the Grand Palace of Paris after having directed in 1964 the work on the conditioning of its rooms on the initiative of the then Minister of Education, André Malraux. His style is inscribed among lyrical abstraction, greatly influenced by the works of Robert Delaunay, and the futurism of the Italians.
I exhibited in the main avant-garde salons, such as the Salón de Automne and the Salón de las Tullerías, and soon began to attract attention, particularly that of the influential critic Frank Elgar. In the prosperous Parisian atmosphere of the creativity of Liberation Arnould flourished, and developed productive friendships with Pignon, Gischia and Estève. In 1945, he held his first solo exhibition in the United States, at Galería Passedoit.

Reynold Henri Arnould foi um artista francês nascido em Le Havre, França, em 1919, e falecido em Paris, França, em 1980. Ingressou com apenas 10 anos na École des Beaux-Arts de Rouen e, em 1937, entrou na École des Beaux-Arts de Paris. Em 1939 recebeu o prestigiado Prix de Rome.
Após uma estadia nos Estados Unidos, regressou a Paris em 1952, sendo nomeado diretor do Museu de Le Havre. Mais tarde assumiu a direção do Grand Palais de Paris, tendo coordenado, em 1964, os trabalhos de reorganização e modernização das suas salas por iniciativa do então ministro da Educação francês, André Malraux.
A sua obra insere-se numa linguagem influenciada pelo futurismo, marcada pelo dinamismo das formas e pela forte influência cromática e estrutural das pinturas de Robert Delaunay.
