Reynold Henri Arnould (1919-1980) was a renowned French artist, studying for 10 years at the École des beaux arts de Ruan, graduating in 1937 in Paris, winning the Rome Prize in 1939. He returned to the United States, returning to the French capital in 1952 and He was appointed director of the museum of El Havre and, later, of the Grand Palace of Paris after having directed in 1964 the work on the conditioning of its rooms on the initiative of the then Minister of Education, André Malraux. His style is part of late cubism, lyrical abstraction, very influenced by the works of Robert Delaunay, and the futurism of the Italians.
I exhibited in the main avant-garde salons, such as the Salón de Automne and the Salón de las Tullerías, and soon began to attract attention, particularly that of the influential critic Frank Elgar. In the prosperous Parisian atmosphere of the creativity of Liberation Arnould flourished, and developed productive friendships with Pignon, Gischia and Estève. In 1945, he held his first solo exhibition in the United States, at Galería Passedoit.
The artist is represented in numerous public collections, including the National Museum of Modern Art in Paris, and modern art museums in London, America, Italy, Norway and Switzerland.
