In the colors of memory, Alfredo Luz (1951) creates in his paintings a set of fragments that are brought together by his senses and thoughts. Divided between the experiences of rural and urban life, he conceives a complex discourse about his views of the everyday world. What seems ordinary becomes another element surrounded by charm and lightness. His creative universe is presented, based on his technical ability to create shapes with perfect color harmony, transmitting a feeling of purity, sensitivity and fantasy. Alfredo Luz (1951) is a multifaceted artist who left his mark not only on screen, but also in education. He taught Visual Education in several cities, including Luanda, Arouca, Felgueiras, Moimenta da Beira, Caneças and Lisbon, dedicating several years to teaching and sharing his passion for the visual arts. His graphic work was recognized and published by several renowned entities and institutions, such as EPNC, EPAL, RDP, Galeria Galveias, Galeria Grade, Editora Vigo, Didáctica Editora, Casino Estoril, Galeria Enes, Fundação Eugénio de Andrade, Instituto do Consumidor, Livros Horizonte, CM of Cascais, Ministry of Justice and now CPS. The artistic contribution of Alfredo Luz It was also the object of academic study, being the subject of a master's thesis at Universidade Nova de Lisboa in 2011, by M. Raquel Costa, entitled “A Fortuna Crítica do Surrealismo em Portugal Dos Pioneiros a Alfredo Luz". The artist has a strong presence on the artistic circuit, regularly exhibiting in Portugal and abroad. His participation in notable events stands out, such as the Contemporary Art Fair in Lisbon (2006), Arte Madrid in Madrid (2007) and the International Surrealism Exhibition in Santiago de Chile (2008).In his works, Alfredo Luz reveals a world full of fragments, brought together through your senses and thoughts. Transitioning between the experiences of rural and urban life, he builds a complex discourse on his views of the everyday world. His technical skill stands out in the creation of shapes that combine perfectly with a harmony of colors, transmitting sensations of purity, sensitivity and fantasy. The artist tends to collaborate with other surrealist artists, such as Cruzeiro Seixas and Luzia Lages. His presence in exhibitions, both national and international, reinforces his significant contribution to the contemporary artistic scene, demonstrating his ability to transform the ordinary into something charming and full of lightness.
