In 1996, Kcho began exhibiting his work at the National Center for Contemporary Art in Montreal, Canada. In 1992, Kcho was named member of the Jury of the National Salon of the National Museum of the Palace of Fine Arts in Havana, Cuba. In 1994, he received a grant from the Ludwig Foundation of Cuba. The group offers cash prizes to help promote and protect contemporary Cuban artists. Next year, Kcho received the UNESCO Prize for the Promotion of the Arts in Geneva, Switzerland. His works are on permanent display in some of the world's most famous galleries and museums, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York, NY, the Arizona State University Museum of Art in Tempe, AZ, and the Walker Art Center in Minnesota. .
