Diego Forriol, Cuenca 1972 In this series, Forriol contemplates the world as an extension of his own being, presenting a broad, serene and sublime perspective that announces a fair and hopeful outcome on the topic that concerns him: “depopulation” as a polemic of a social tone. His contemplative look at the world projected onto himself and identifying his own ideas, feelings and illusions, like a romantic painter who appeals more to the subject than to the object and who, in the solitude of the horizon, is able to be in communion with the world around us. We are presented with an essentially metaphysical artist who captures in his work an uncertainty in current society and an idea of order and balance as a solution. In his work, the chromatic totality that governs nature is diluted, using delicate shades of blue combined in harmony with pinks and browns, establishing a dialectic between the dominant ranges, in clear contrast with the strong textures of uninhabited imaginary lands. Clouds are the discreet protagonists that inspired the painting presented by Diego Forriol.
