Albuquerque Mendes (1953) is a reference of performance in Portugal. Since in the 1970s, his work has been presented in several national and international museological institutions. She earned notoriety in 1977, when she participated in the zero alternative exposure. In addition to performance, he also paints as a form of expression. In his works, themes relating to religious symbology and self portraits predominate. In November 2001, the Serralves Foundation held its first anthological exposure, and most recently participated in the collective exhibition "Quel Amour!", At the Berardo Collection Museum, between 2018 and 2019. Received the prizes Nadir Afonso (1983) and Amadeu de Sousa Cardoso (1997).
