Yasiel Elizagaray
Yasiel Elizagaray was born on July 23, 1987 in Yaguajay, Sancti Spíritus, in northern Cuba.
During his adolescence, between 2005 and 2008, he conducted workshops as an Art Instructor, specializing in Visual Arts.
Her professional training has always been very focused on painting as a medium and on expressionism as a whole, as a way of investigating the reality that surrounds her and the human being in particular.
From the city of Trinidad, the third town founded by the Spanish Colony in Cuba and declared a World Heritage Site, the artist, who founded Open Studio Elizagaray, began to develop his work and gained national recognition, receiving the Prize at the Trinidad Biennial.
The visibility of her creations expands internationally through references and appearances in Ibero-American art magazines.
In 2019, the Círculo de las Artes Foundation of France received the Prize of Excellence (Artist of the Year Award).
She has participated in more than 20 group exhibitions in Cuba, the USA, Germany, and other countries.
Art Madrid, Art Bassel Miami, Art Palm Beach, and Art Wynwood are part of important public and private collections.
Recently, a solo exhibition entitled “Ánimas” was held in one of the most prestigious galleries in the Cuban art scene.
Where the artist explores successes and motifs of the subconscious through child portraiture; a resource that explores, through disfigured and anonymous faces, the existential conflict between the reality of the present adult and the memory of childhood as a full and happy stage.
This exhibition has been very well received by both the public and critics, and is being showcased in various art spaces around the world.
