Veronika Blyzniuchenko was born in Kharkiv, Ukraine, on July 16, 1996. She holds a degree in Art History and graduated from the Kharkiv Academic Art Lyceum in 2013. She earned her bachelor's degree from the Kharkiv State Academy of Design and Arts in 2017, specializing in easel painting. In 2019, she completed her master's degree at the same institution.
With the outbreak of war in Ukraine, Veronika moved to Portugal, where she currently lives and works. Her main activity is painting, using a variety of techniques, with a preference for watercolors and oils.
Initially, inspiration came from an internal process of finding and transforming motifs. Since arriving in Portugal, this has changed radically. Now, the fabulous nature, picturesque architecture, and shades of blue that predominate in his works are constant sources of inspiration. Purity of color has become even more important in his art.
Veronika feels perfect harmony with herself and the world around her. Details like the scent of a blossoming tree or a bird basking in the morning sun inspire her to create new works. Nature and animals, often fantastical, are at the heart of her art. Birds are often the main characters in her paintings, with the human figure appearing only occasionally, usually as an idealized image.
Although Veronika doesn't see herself as an artist who communicates directly with society through her works, she believes that each viewer can form a personal impression and immerse themselves in their imaginary, sometimes fairytale-like, world. Her art creates windows into a fictional world and invites viewers to peer through them, providing space for reflection, fantasy, and connection with each person's own worldview.
