Ricard Arenys Galdón (1916–1977) was a painter and draftsman born in Barcelona, Spain, widely recognized as one of the great masters of figurative and equestrian painting of the 20th century. He graduated from the School of Arts and Crafts of Llotja, in Barcelona, Spainwhere he honed his drawing skills and mastery of color, which allowed him to achieve remarkable success not only in his country of origin, but also in France, where his exhibitions in Paris consolidated his international reputation. His work is celebrated for its extraordinary ability to capture the movement, vigor, and elegance of horses, often placed within expansive landscapes or hunting scenes, using a technique that balances anatomical accuracy with an Impressionist-influenced luminosity, although his portfolio also includes still lifes and delicate floral subjects.
