Julián de Tellaeche y Aldasoro (Bergara, Guipúzcoa, 1884 – Lima, 1957)
Julián de Tellaeche and Aldasoro was a painter whose career was deeply influenced by his youth as a sailor and his later training in Paris. He abandoned his job as a sailor to enter the world of painting by the hand of Eduardo Chicharro, when he was excited to travel to Paris, where he completed his training at the Julien and Colarossi academies.
After his stay in Paris, he settled in Lequeitio (Vizcaya), dedicating himself completely to painting. I discovered his talent for the first time in 1910, at the VI Exhibition of Modern Art in Bilbao. He presented his works in important national and international exhibitions, such as at the International Exhibition of Painting and Sculpture in Bilbao in 1919 or at the International Exhibition in Barcelona in 1929.
With the outbreak of the Civil War, he was forced to go into exile in Paris, where he participated in the International Exhibition of 1937. Years later, in 1952, he moved to Lima, the city where he resided until the end of his days, serving as curator of the Peruvian National Artistic Treasury. His artistic legacy is also linked to his work in exile; After the Civil War, he moved to Peru, where he worked for UNESCO in the creation of colonial art restoration schools.

Julián de Tellaeche y Aldasoro nasceu em Bergara, Guipúzcoa, Espanha, em 1884, e faleceu em Lima, Peru, em 1957. Foi um pintor espanhol cuja carreira artística foi influenciada pela juventude como marinheiro e pela formação artística em Paris, França.
Abandonou a vida marítima para se dedicar à pintura, incentivado pelo artista Eduardo Chicharro, que o encorajou a estudar nas academias Julien e Colarossi, em Paris. Após a sua formação, instalou-se em Lequeitio, Biscaia, Espanha, dedicando-se inteiramente à pintura.
Deu-se a conhecer em 1910, na VI Exposição de Arte Moderna de Bilbao, participando posteriormente em importantes exposições nacionais e internacionais, como a Exposição Internacional de Pintura e Escultura de Bilbao (1919) e a Exposição Internacional de Barcelona (1929).
Com o início da Guerra Civil Espanhola, exilou-se em Paris, onde participou na Exposição Internacional de 1937. Em 1952 mudou-se para Lima, Peru, onde viveu até ao final da vida, exercendo funções como conservador do Tesouro Artístico Nacional peruano. Também colaborou com a UNESCO na criação de escolas dedicadas ao restauro de arte colonial no Peru.
