Diogo Gonçalves nasceu em 1990 e vive e trabalha em Lisboa, Portugal.
A sua prática escultórica centra-se na exploração da espacialidade, da luz, do movimento e da energia. Na sua obra, o gesto surge como resultado do confronto do corpo com o espaço, sendo a energia e a presença da lâmpada elementos recorrentes e estruturantes do seu vocabulário plástico. Num jogo aparente entre bidimensionalidade e tridimensionalidade, a escultura afirma-se como ação e gesto performativo, onde a matéria se dilui na própria energia, refletindo os princípios programáticos da sua investigação artística.
Expõe regularmente desde 2013. Entre as exposições individuais destacam-se: Start-Do-Repeat – Cooperativa de Comunicação e Cultura (2022), Torres Vedras, Portugal; Untitled – Kunst Off Space Narrenkastle (2021), Graz, Áustria; Line Up In Space – Biblioteca Camões (2020), Lisboa, Portugal; e Segmento Volátil – Museu de Lisboa Teatro Romano (2019), Lisboa, Portugal.
Participou ainda em diversas exposições coletivas selecionadas, entre as quais: Mechanics of Reality – Artemis Gallery (2022), Lisboa, Portugal; Electric Dreams – Artemis Gallery (2021), Lisboa, Portugal; Curating Obstacles – Serra da Arrábida (2021), Setúbal, Portugal; Lines of Thought – CICA Museum (2020), Coreia do Sul; e Tridimensionalidade Aparente – Galeria António Prates (2020), Lisboa, Portugal.
O seu trabalho integra também várias publicações e projetos editoriais em Portugal, Países Baixos e Espanha, incluindo colaborações com a Stichting Destination Unknown e a coleção Imago Mundi – Luciano Benetton Collection.
