Sandra Fernandes, better known by her stage name Dekoque, is a talented artist from Póvoa de Santa Iria, Portugal. With a deep conviction, he believes that art has the power to transform the world and shape personal meanings.
Since her childhood, Sandra Fernandes has explored different materials, deconstructing and reconstructing works that caught the attention of those around her. After studying graphic design at IADE, her passion for art never left her. Dekoque expanded her artistic expression, exploring ceramics, jewelry and other media.
In 2014, he adopted the stage name Dekoque and consolidated all these experiences in his artistic project. Dekoque is known for its unique sculptures, which incorporate a variety of materials, including wood, recycled plastic, metals and objects found in fairs and markets. For Dekoque, the value of art lies in the personal interpretation of those who observe it. If the work has meaning for the viewer, Dekoque considers that its purpose has been fulfilled.
Dekoque It is also a critique of the lack of artistic culture in Portugal, aiming for a greater appreciation of the arts in schools and in society in general, overcoming provincialism and valuing authenticity.
