Catarina Machado Seguir artista +
Catarina Machado nasceu em 1975 no Porto, Portugal. Possui uma formação académica dupla, sendo Licenciada em Arquitetura pela Universidade Lusíada do Porto (Portugal, 1993-98) e Pós-graduada em Arte Contemporânea pela Universidade Católica do Porto (Portugal, 2006-07). Desde 2005, a artista partilha o seu conhecimento como professora de pintura no ateliê livre do S.B.N.
Com um percurso artístico intenso, participa desde 1995 em mais de 190 concursos, bienais de artes plásticas, exposições individuais e coletivas. A sua obra alcançou reconhecimento internacional, tendo sido representada em feiras internacionais de arte contemporânea de grande prestígio, nomeadamente a ARCO em 2002 e 2008, em Espanha.
A sua linguagem artística remete para a ideia das linhas geradas pela ondulação rítmica do mar. Esta inspiração manifesta-se através da criação de ambientes cromáticos dissonantes e das linhas efémeras desenhadas pelas manobras de uma prancha de surf. O mar é a sua maior fonte de inspiração, sendo as elipses uma constante no seu trabalho desde o ano 2000.
