António Neves Seguir artista +
António Neves nasceu em 1963, em Ílhavo, Portugal, e é considerado herdeiro da nobre tradição de artes plásticas daquele concelho da região de Aveiro, em torno da grande marca Vista Alegre.
O seu percurso artístico começou cedo na prestigiada fábrica cerâmica Vista Alegre, onde ingressou aos 16 anos. Ali recebeu aulas de desenho e pintura, sobretudo com os mestres Catarino e Armando Pimentel, que lhe transmitiram os segredos do desenho e da pintura sobre porcelana durante os cerca de oito anos em que permaneceu na unidade como operário. Em 1987, enquanto era monitor de pintura no Centro de Criação Artística da Vista Alegre, António Neves optou por iniciar a sua carreira nas artes plásticas, elegendo a pintura a aguarela como técnica de eleição.
O artista define-se sobretudo como aquarelista paisagístico, sendo considerado um dos maiores aquarelistas portugueses contemporâneos. A sua pintura revela um profundo amor pela natureza e pelas sensações, brindando "ao orvalho das manhãs, às brumas que descem sobre a paisagem", dissolvendo os contornos, diluindo as formas e oferecendo um mundo "adoçado pela melancolia do marulhar das águas" e pelo odor do lodo da zona ribeirinha. Os seus temas prediletos incluem o Brasil, o Alentejo, o Douro ou o Tejo, Lisboa ou a região de Aveiro.
António Neves tem um vasto currículo com inúmeras exposições nacionais e internacionais, prémios e homenagens.
