Alota Ribeiro
Carla Andreia Magalhães Ribeiro, known artistically as Alota Ribeiro, was born on March 29, 1987, and lives in Guimarães. His artistic work develops from a deeply emotional and intuitive approach, where the scribe assumes the primary role as a tool of expression.
Her works emerge from the combination of textures, shapes, and colors that, without resorting to words, appeal to the viewer's attentive gaze and imagination. The artist began her career in the Technological Course of Arts and Crafts, having furthered her training at ESAP – Escola Superior Artística do Porto, Guimarães campus. Over the years, she participated in several nude drawing workshops and additional training, which reinforced her understanding of the human body and gesture as artistic expression.
The work of Alota Ribeiro is rooted in lived experiences, many of them marked by a strong emotional charge. Through a practice anchored in realism, the artist affirms her manifesto and confronts the harshness of everyday life. Representing silent narratives—individual and collective—she invites reflection on the social context in which she is inserted.
Recently, Alota entered a new creative phase, delving into abstraction as a space for aesthetic and emotional freedom. This transition marks an important moment in her artistic evolution, allowing her to explore new visual languages, expand her formal boundaries, and give voice to other forms of inner expression.
Throughout his career, he has participated in several group exhibitions, actively contributing to contemporary artistic dialogue and sharing his visual universe with different audiences and creators.
