The Portuguese visual artist and illustrator, Diogo Machado (1980) known artistically by Add Fuel, graduated in graphic design by IADE - Institute of Visual Arts, Design and Marketing of Lisbon. Since 2007, he concentrated exclusively on his artwork, thus creating a dark, but lush visual universe, inhabited by a cast of viscous, eccentric and cheerful creatures, influenced by a variety of interests ranging from video games to animation, passing through movies Low budget and urban visual culture. Subsequently, due to its fascination for the aesthetic possibilities of symmetrical standards, he began working on the reinterpretation of the language of the traditional design of the tiles and, in particular, the Portuguese tiles of enameled ceramics. Exploring a wide range of manual and digital techniques in the fields of drawing, painting, ceramics and printing, the practice expresses a sophisticated dialogue between the old and the new, between heritage and modernity. In addition to the numerous artistic interventions in the public space, he has also presented his work in individual and collective exhibitions in galleries such as Underdogs Gallery, Saatchi Gallery, Pure Evil Gallery, among others.
