Acácio Viegas é um artista visual português com uma sólida formação académica e técnica na área do Design. Licenciou-se em Design do Produto pelo Instituto Politécnico de Viana do Castelo, Portugal (2002), obteve o Mestrado em Design Industrial pela Universidade do Porto, Portugal (2006), e, em 2025, o título de Especialista em Design do Produto. Paralelamente, atua como professor assistente convidado no Instituto Politécnico de Viana do Castelo, tendo também lecionado no Instituto Politécnico do Cávado e do Ave, Portugal, onde coorientou estágios e teses de mestrado. A sua prática artística nasceu em 2014 de uma necessidade de manifestação espiritual, procurando novas formas de expressão que transcendem a linguagem racional do design, através da exploração visual e da intuição. O seu trabalho abrange a pintura, escultura, instalação e arte pública, demonstrando uma vocação intrinsecamente multidisciplinar.
O seu reconhecimento inclui a conquista do Prémio de Artes Plásticas Henrique Silva em 2024, promovido pela Câmara Municipal de Paredes, Portugal. O seu percurso expositivo é marcado pela participação em diversas bienais de relevo, como a Bienal de Pintura do Eixo Atlântico (2025), as Bienais Internacionais de Espinho (várias edições), a BIALE – Bienal Internacional do Alentejo (2025), e a XXI Bienal Internacional de Arte de Cerveira (2020). Internacionalmente, foi convidado para a exposição "Y’a de l’art dans l’air" em Carpentras, França (2025). As suas mostras individuais incluem exposições institucionais como "Not In The Same Way" nos Antigos Paços do Concelho de Viana do Castelo e no Centro de Memória de Vila do Conde, Portugal (2025). Adicionalmente, Acácio Viegas colabora frequentemente em exposições de Arte Sacra Contemporânea, como as coletivas no Mosteiro de Grijó e a Bienal Internacional de Arte Sacra Contemporânea de Braga (2018), e integrou a exposição "100 Anos Bauhaus" (2019) na Casa da Arquitectura, em Portugal.
