Abi Castillo (1987, Vigo) é ilustradora e ceramista. Licenciou-se em Belas-Artes pela Universidade de Vigo e completou a sua formação em Cerâmica Artística na EMAO (Escola de Artes e Ofícios de Vigo). A cerâmica abriu-lhe um vasto campo de possibilidades estéticas e criativas, permitindo-lhe dar forma e volume às suas criaturas e personagens. O rosto é um elemento central na sua obra, resultado da sua necessidade constante de dar vida aos objetos e procurar um olhar a que responder.
O seu trabalho mantém um ideal romântico e fantasioso do mundo natural, como se se tratasse de um jardim próprio, onde o humor e o drama convivem em constante ambiguidade. Essa dualidade entre o místico e o trágico, entre o monstruoso e o belo, é uma marca essencial do seu universo artístico.
As suas obras foram apresentadas em espaços como a Thinkspace Gallery (Los Angeles), Ó! Galeria (Porto), Galerie Zberro (Paris), Hybrid Art Fair (Madrid), JustMad (Madrid) e Crackids (Lisboa), entre outros. Entre as suas exposições individuais destacam-se DRAMA (Ó! Galeria, Porto, 2021), Allergic Party (Thinkspace Gallery, Los Angeles, 2023) e Raio de Lúa (Galería Maraca, Vigo, 2023). Participou também em publicações ilustradas e colaborou com a marca Zara no projeto Women in Art.
