Yeanzi is an Ivorian contemporary artist, born in 1988 in Katiola, Ivory Coast. He graduated from the École des Beaux-Arts in Abidjan, Ivory Coast, where he developed his artistic base and began exploring unconventional materials as a form of social and environmental criticism.
His work combines painting, sculpture, and installation to address themes of identity, consumption, and collective memory. He is widely recognized for his use of recycled plastic, which he melts and molds into portraits and human figures. Through this unique technique, Yeanzi denounces the environmental and social impact of global consumerism, transforming waste into expressive and provocative art.
His works, characterized by vibrant colors and intense textures, blend social critique with a contemporary aesthetic that reflects African modernity. Many of his creations depict public figures from the African continent, questioning power relations, representation, and the postcolonial cultural legacy.
