Domingos de Castro Gentil Soares Branco (Lisbon, December 20, 1925 — Lisbon, December 4, 2013), known as Soares Branco, was a sculptor and professor at the Lisbon Superior School of Fine Arts. He was a student of José Simões de Almeida (Sobrinho) and Leopoldo de Almeida.Throughout his career he specialized in sculpture, with emphasis on the production of sculptural elements used in public, and for medals. In the field of medals, he left a vast body of work, having won several awards in competitions.
His sculptural production for public spaces was extensive, present in several Portuguese cities and towns, with emphasis on Lisbon, Mafra, Santarém and Fátima.
