He graduated in historical-philosophical sciences at the University of Lisbon (1948), pursuing studies later in the areas of aesthetics, language and art theory in France and Italy, with a bag of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. In paralleled poetry, publishing his first book in 1957, a blind mirror. Its academic background and poetic practice will interconnect itself in the research and theorization of visual poetry, thus manifests itself in two fields, the text and the form. In 1964, publishes experimental poetry notebook. It develops the game and subversion of syntax rules, which generates new words from other words or fragmentation. The visual expression of these works is, for the artist, fundamental to its embodiment in the aesthetic plane, as it considers that aesthetic communication is always made through perception. Her work is therefore anchored in a theoretical position linked to the psychology of forms, also evidenced in the aesthetics classes she teaches in the national society of beautiful arts and in the articles she publishes from Brotéria magazine. Her work was released in several published publications still in the author's life or posthumously. In 1979 the Valley Quadrum organized a retrospective of her visual poetry.
