Ricardo Kapuka nasceu em Catumbela, Angola, em 1976. É um artista plástico autodidata que vive e trabalha em Angola, tendo desenvolvido parte significativa da sua carreira em Portugal entre 1994 e 2009. Entre 1998 e 2002 integrou a secção juvenil do Coletivo de Artistas Plásticos de Almada (IMARGEM), participando em diversas exposições coletivas em Almada. A sua trajetória artística começou muito cedo, realizando a sua primeira exposição aos 11 anos, em 1987, na sede da TPA, na província de Benguela, mostra comentada pelo artista Délio Batista. Ao longo da sua carreira, Kapuka consolidou-se como uma presença relevante na arte contemporânea angolana, destacando-se pela sua abordagem autodidata e pela participação ativa em projetos expositivos em Angola e Portugal.
