With a solid career in the visual arts in Portugal, he won a loyal following with his deeply evocative visual language. His works, characterized by a harmonious color palette, diagonal composition, bold lines, and intense luminosity, reveal a poetic approach to abstraction.

In 2008, he published the book Paul Mathieu – Visual Artist: A Life Choice, published by EPAL/Water Museum, where he reflects on his artistic career and philosophy.
Institutional representations:
It is represented in nine Portuguese museums and ministries, as well as in 17 prestigious corporate collections.
Tapestries:
In collaboration with the Manufactura de Tapeçarias de Portalegre, he created two tapestries between 2004 and 2005, reinforcing the versatility and transversality of his artistic work.
