Lázaro Lozano was born in Nazaré on February 15, 1906.
He died in Madrid on April 24, 1999; he was a Portuguese painter.
He studied at the School of Arts and Crafts in Setúbal and at the School of Fine Arts in Lisbon.
Son of Spanish parents who settled in Portugal and were involved in the fish industry, Bonifácio Lázaro Lozano, an expressionist painter, dedicated a large part of his work to the people of Nazaré (his birthplace) and their constant struggle in the difficult tasks of the sea and fishing.
Lázaro Lozano also completed his studies at the San Fernando Academy of Fine Arts in Madrid.
His work has been recognized numerous times with awards and medals.
His works are represented in museums in several countries, such as in Portugal, at the Museum José Malhoa (Caldas da Rainha), in the Nazaré Museum, his birthplace, in the Chiado Museum (Lisbon), among others; in the Columbus Museum, Georgia (USA). In the United Kingdom, University of Leeds. In Spain, Provincial Museum (Badajoz), Ministry of Foreign Affairs (Madrid). Africa; Lourenço Marques City Museum and in various private collections scattered throughout the world.
He exhibited at the Estil Gallery in Valencia in April 1963.
