José Batista Marques He was born in Lisbon in 1975, where he lives and works. He holds a degree in Painting degree from the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Lisbon and has a Master's degree in Management and Cultural Studies from ISCTE – University Institute of LisbonHe is also a professor of Arts Management at Art School António Stream, in Lisbon.
Throughout his career, he received numerous awards and distinctions, most notably the award... Young Revelation – Fine Arts (2006), the 1st place in the XIII Premi d'Arts Visuals Ciutat de Burriana (2008) and the 2nd place in the Rothschild Painting Prize (2007), in addition to several nominations as a finalist in international awards.
Since the early 2000s, she has developed an intense exhibition activity, with numerous solo and group exhibitions in Portugal and abroad, including cities such as Lisbon, Porto, Madrid, London and Vigo. Her work has been presented in galleries, museums, biennials and contemporary art fairs, such as ARCO and the Bienal Jeune Création Européenne.
His work is represented in several public and private collections, including... Banque Privée Edmond de Rothschilda Norlinda and José Lima Collectiona Imago Mundi Collectionthe Barclays Bank and the Marquis of Pombal Foundation.
