Fernanda Araújo She is a visual artist born in Lisbon. Portugal, in 1961, who stands out in the contemporary art scene for her work in the areas of painting, drawing and sculpture. Her academic training took place at Ar.Co (Center for Art and Visual Communication) in Lisbon, Portugal, where he deepened his technical and theoretical knowledge, and at the Lisbon School of Fine Arts, fundamental institutions for defining his artistic career, which began in the 1980s. His work is frequently characterized by the exploration of memory, time, and space, using an often sober color palette and an economy of means that invite introspection and silence.
Throughout her career, Fernanda Araújo has maintained a regular presence in solo and group exhibitions in Portugal, notably her collaboration with Galeria Diferença in Lisbon, and participation in institutional spaces such as the Cultural Center of Belém and the Water Museum. His work has crossed borders, being exhibited at events and galleries in Spainin France and in Brazil, which allowed for the international recognition of her aesthetic language. In addition to her studio work, the artist has dedicated herself to research on materials and their durability, integrating her work into several prestigious public and private collections in PortugalCurrently, she continues to develop projects that merge the tradition of drawing with contemporary approaches, and is considered a leading figure due to the coherence and rigor of her visual research.
