Ernst Kraft, a Dutch artist born in Bloemendaal, Netherlands, in 1952, is known for his abstract and dramatic expressions in contemporary art. After five years in North and South America, followed by a twelve-year stay in Amsterdam, Ernst moved his studio to Malaga, Spain, in 1989, where he continues his artistic practice. His diverse work includes pieces on canvas, paper and other techniques, displaying a unique interpretation of contemporary times. His creations are exhibited internationally in renowned galleries and institutions, standing out for their abstraction and drama. In addition to his works in galleries, Ernst Kraft complements his artistic career with projects involving objects, installations and sculptural constructions in public spaces around the world. Among his notable contributions are the Labyrinth of Leon at the Alzheimer's Foundation in León, Mexico, the stone labyrinth in Passau, Germany, the House of Two Chimneys in Santa Rosa, Argentina, the Transparent Staircase and the Courtyard Labyrinth in Málaga, the Cube in Ostend, Belgium, and the Monument to the Unknown Migrant, created for the Tijuana Art Triennial, Mexico, in 2021. In addition to his artistic practice, Ernst Kraft is the author of literary works. In 2015, he published the children's story "Paco Pulpito", featuring his own text and illustrations. The following year, he released "Las Crónicas del Kong" (The Kong Chronicles), a fully illustrated fable that addresses issues of crimes against humanity. The career of Ernst Kraft not only resonates for its unique artistic expression, but also for its creative diversity and engagement with relevant themes, both in the visual arts and literature.
