Dagoberto Silva nasceu em Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal, no dia 19 de abril de 1952, cidade onde reside e mantém a sua atividade profissional como Artista Plástico no seu ateliê. Estudou Artes na Escola Soares dos Reis, no Porto, Portugal, e expõe desde 1976. A bolsa de estudo que frequentou pelo Conselho da Europa, em Veneza, Itália, foi decisiva na definição do seu vocabulário artístico. A pintura de Dagoberto Silva apresenta uma visão impressionista, focada na captação fugaz de um dado momento, sendo sobretudo um pintor de "ar livre" com um interesse pela captação da realidade. Tecnicamente, as suas obras caracterizam-se pela justaposição de pinceladas livres, nervosas e espontâneas, com um forte cunho impressionista e expressionista, e pela utilização de uma paleta de cores quentes e contrastantes que lhes conferem brilho e luminosidade, e que estão carregadas de grande sensibilidade e técnica. O artista é sócio fundador da ARGO – Associação Artística de Gondomar, Portugal, e orienta o ateliê de pintura do Sindicato dos Professores da Zona Norte desde 2007. Colaborou na IX Feira das Profissões e do Ensino Superior do Colégio Nossa Senhora da Paz (Porto, Portugal) em fevereiro de 2013, como Artista Plástico. O seu trabalho está presente em diversas galerias, está representado em várias coleções particulares e institucionais em Portugal e no Estrangeiro, e é citado em publicações como o livro 50 Anos de Pintura e Escultura em Portugal, a magazine Casa e Jardim (junho de 2005), e diversos Guias de Arte, além de ter realizado ilustrações em livros a convite de vários autores.
