Steel sculpture that is part of the series Cosmoselector dedicated to geological samples of exoplanets. Each sculpture represents a geophysical formation on a planet outside the solar system.
Sample collected on the planet: 'TAU CETI e'
Constellation: CETUS
Ascension: 01h 44m 5s -
Declination: -15°56’15”
Stellar distance: 11.9 light years.
Dimensions: 77 x 77 x 10 cm
The planetary surface shows a composition in which only two types of materials appear to be found. One of them, extremely soft and fine, almost like talc, is shaped by the winds, forming immense dunes. The other, dark, very hard, fragmented and cracked, resembles obsidian. The sample was stabilized for extraction. The beauty of the whole is magnetic when the weak, diffuse light of its star generates plays of shadows that stretch for thousands of kilometers.
