Ana Rolaça Costa, born in 1983 in Silves, is a visual artist whose works address
Deep and essential themes surrounding corporeality and the erosion of identity. Through her artistic expression, Ana questions social norms that impose unrealistic beauty standards, embracing the genuine essence of humanity in her creations.
His abstract paintings and collages vary in size, serving as vehicles for the
discourse on the struggles against misleading assumptions related to beauty and
acceptance. The art of Ana Rolaça Costa emerges as a powerful manifesto, challenging the
prevailing social norms and advocating the renewal of people's inherent beauty.
Notable in his works is the expressive use of visceral forms that constitute the core of his visual language.
Throughout his career, the art of Ana Rolaça costa underwent significant evolution. Between 2008 and 2011, it delved deeper into "body perceptions," encouraging viewers to self-reflect.
Subsequent phases, such as “Púdica Granatum” (2011-2012) and “Beautiful Rawness” (2013-
2021), feature rich, fleshy tones. His most recent series, including “Beetroots and
Other Things” (2023-2025), represents an ongoing search for innovative expressions of
rebirth and transformation. By incorporating natural elements such as plants and other
vegetation, Ana encapsulates in her work a vital rebirth that resonates deeply with contemporary themes.
