Alba Escayo (1981, Avilés, Spain) is a visual artist whose work is inspired by travel and the discovery of new places. He graduated in Fine Arts from the Complutense University of Madrid (Spain), studied at the National Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna (Italy) and obtained a Master's degree in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Belgrade (Serbia). His training also includes courses and residencies in Italy, India and Spain, reflecting an international journey that is also reflected in his artistic practice.
His work is present in museums and public and private collections, the result of a career marked by international collaborations and projects. Her paintings explore the dialogue between the natural world and the artist's inner universe, using acrylic, oil, paint and collage to create vibrant and energetic compositions. In addition to painting, he also works with photography and new visual media.
Escayo has presented his work in solo and group exhibitions in Spain, France, Serbia, Portugal, Singapore, Italy and other countries. Among the most relevant exhibitions are Mar de Memoria (La Factoría Cultural, Avilés, Spain, 2021), El viaje (Galería Lucía Dueñas, Oviedo, Spain, 2020), Pacifico (Galería Antonio de Suñer, Madrid, Spain, 2017) and exhibitions in spaces such as INSTINC Art Space (Singapore), Centro de Arte Contemporáneo de Gaillon (France) and Instituto Cervantes de Belgrade (Serbia). Since 2012, he has been actively exhibiting in Singapore and collaborating with local artists.
