The Porto Photography Biennial is looking for photographer artists
The Porto Photography Biennial will nominate 5 emerging artists from the field of photography residing in Portugal to join the European Futures communityin 2023. The selected artists will benefit from an international exchange through a network of institutions, curators, artists and audiences, enhancing visibility and new professional opportunities. Bienal Fotografia do Porto is one of the 18 members of FUTURES.
Paintings by Amadeo de Souza Cardoso and Manuel D'Assumpção are donated to the Chiado Museum
"Pintura (Windows)", from around 1916, by Amadeo de Souza Cardoso (1887-1918), and "A las Cinco en Punto de la Tarde (homage to Garcia Llorca)", from 1960, by Manuel D'Assumpção ( 1926-1969), are paintings that will "enrich in a very significant way" the MNAC-MC collection, said the person in charge. Registration open for the 21st edition of Doclisboa 2023
The 21st edition of Doclisboa will take place between the 19th and 29th of October 2023. Film submissions for this edition can be made between the 15th of January and the 31st of May 2023.National and international films, produced from September 2022, of any duration, may be submitted.
San Francisco Museum of Modern Art acquires first NFT
The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art acquired its first NFT, a work entitledFinal Transformation #2 (2022) by artistLynn Hershman Leeson. Final Transformation #2 is an NFT from a clip from Leeson's 1997 film,Conceive Ada, starring Tilda Swinton as Victorian mathematician Ada Lovelace. The title is derived from Swinton's last line in the film.
