Exhibition on the architect Oscar Niemeyer in Funchal
The exhibition “Oscar Niemeyer, 115 years of the infinite curve”, an exhibition about the activity of the famous Brazilian architect, was inaugurated at the Hotel Pestana Casino Park, in Funchal, the only work of his authorship built in Portugal. Learn more here,
MEET THE ARTIST: Joana Duarte
The compositions of Joana Duarte describe the essential lines of painting: color, shape, texture and movement. In his works with great abstract influences, few elements are used with undefined limits that create interesting chromatic relationships of great subtlety. The splashes of color present in his painting offer the viewer a door to raw emotions and the immaterial, by preferably exploring tactile qualities and sensitive color effects. Rijksmuseum sells over 200,000 tickets for Veermer
According to the museum, for the first time, 28 of the 37 works whose authorship is attributed to "the 17th century master Johannes Vermeer" will be gathered and the interest already aroused led to the advance sale of more than 200,000 tickets. Learn more here.
