Alba Escayo

barquito

Dimension: 50 x 50 cm.

Mixed technique on marine canvas.

Alba Escayo (Avilés, 1981) inherited the passion for the sea from his grandfather Agustín Menéndez Prendes, better known as Agustín Santarúa, a notable promoter of maritime initiatives such as the “Alborada de Candás”, the “Museo de las Anclas de Salinas” and the “Cofradía de la Buena Mesa de la

Sea". From childhood walks on Salinas beach by the hand of his grandfather, he kept suggestions and a restless curiosity for everything that exudes the smell of saltpeter that over time and as an artist came to influence his work.

Traveling and discovering new places is an inspiring force in your work.

Escayo has a degree in fine arts from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid” and was an assistant at the National Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna.

In 2011 he was awarded a master's degree in painting by the Faculty of

Fine Arts of Belgrade, Serbia.

He was selected for several artistic residencies and collaborated in several international projects and exhibited, individually and collectively, among others, in Madrid, Singapore, the Balkans, France and Portugal.

His paintings are presented in a wide range of forms, from small formats to large mural creations using various media, with textures and collages of vibrant energy in an interaction of the natural with its intimate world, in explosions of color, texts hidden, in which trace and space merge in an eruption of life.

In addition to painting Escayo is also dedicated to photography as well as innovative media.

Shows in Singapore since 2012 together with local artists.

His work can be found in museums, public and private collections.
